Riverdogs, featuring Rob Lamothe (vocals, guitars), Nick Brophy (bass, vocals) and Vivian Campbell (lead guitar), along with long time drummer Marc Danzeisen, are streaming the new song “Welcome To The New Disaster”, featured on their fifth album, California, to be released on July 7th. Listen to the song below.
Mixing the soulful vocals of Lamothe with the edgy guitarwork of Campbell and solid rhythmic lines from Brophy and Danzeisen, the album marks a definitive return to the sound of their critically acclaimed 1990 self-titled debut album. On the making of the album, lead guitarist Vivian Campbell says, “When my friends at Frontiers suggested a Riverdogs album in the spirit of the original debut record, I jumped at the chance to make it. In my opinion, "Riverdogs" was a highlight of my career with some of my best guitar playing and definitely a record that flew under the radar. Having a clear direction of exactly what kind of record to make really helped the four of us create the music and there was an intense collective focus throughout the entire process that never wavered. I really think that we hit the target in creating a record that has all the hallmarks, the integrity and the emotional strength of the original debut. The fact that we've all remained such close friends throughout all the years only added to the joyous experience that was the making of this record." "Going in to this project, my goal was to enjoy the opportunity of making music with some of my best friends, to share this incredible experience with my family...and to create something that Riverdogs fans will probably think is pretty bloody awesome. Big guitars! Beautiful melodies! Words about crazy, complicated, real stuff! I feel like Nick, Viv, Marc and I all brought our 'A-Games' to the writing and recording sessions. That's way more important than money and awards and fame to me," adds vocalist and guitarist Rob Lamothe. Bassist Nick Brophy sums up the writing process for the album: "In summer of 2016, I found myself in Los Angeles, reunited with 3 of my closest friends, about to begin a new Riverdogs album. Marc had arranged a rehearsal environment at a friend's house, which was to provide the creative atmosphere for writing new material. I stood there with bass in hand thinking "OK, now what?" Little did I know that a few days later we would have six new Riverdogs songs and the album 'California' was born. The remaining six songs came, surprisingly, just as easily, a testament to the amazing talents of Vivian, Rob, Marc and the effortless way in which we work as a group. Our clear goal for this album was to remain true to the original Riverdogs sound and provide fans with a new set of songs which carry on the legacy of a truly remarkable band." Riverdogs formed in Los Angeles at the end of the 80's, when flashy, glitzy hard rock ruled the day, but they were determined to avoid clichés and adopted an original sounding blues-rock style. Vivian Campbell of Sweet Savage, Dio, and Whitesnake fame at the time (soon to join and become a long-standing member of Def Leppard and later, founding member of Last In Line as well) was initially brought on board to produce the band's first demo, but was so impressed with the band that he actually became a member and played on the debut album. Soon after the release, Marc Danzeisen joined Rob, Nick and Vivian to complete the line-up. Though fans and critics gave the album a warm reception and high regard, the unfortunate and age old story of change of personnel at their record label came about and eventually led the band members to go their own ways, with Campbell settling into the Def Leppard lineup and Nick Brophy becoming a respected engineer and producer. Riverdogs, with a reformed lineup, released two more records in 1993, Bone and Absolutely Live, before going on an extended hiatus. They reconvened, with the original lineup, in 2003 to record new material and play a few reunion shows. Those new songs were recorded as demos, but only completed in the studio in 2011 when their last album, World Gone Mad was released. Now, six years after their last studio album, Riverdogs have crafted California, a record that truly recreates the magical sounds of their early days and that will surely be welcomed with open arms by fans both old and new.

Budderside, the electric, eclectic, itinerant SoCal rock’n’rollers will tour the US this summer with the legendary L.A. Guns, to form a dynamite package guaranteed to loosen the shackles on audiences nationwide.
“Our dream keeps coming true,” says Patrick Stone, Budderside’s effusive frontman and all-round raconteur. “First Lemmy signed us to Motörhead Music, we toured Europe, we played the Wacken Festival and now we get to tour with L.A. Recently, the band have also been delving into some deeper, darker and even heavier pockets for material, some of which fans will get to hear on this forthcoming tour. “Our strength as a family, and love for our music enabled us to hit rock bottom and bounce,” says Stone, “and that momentum to catapult us all the way to the top.”

Frontiers Music Srl has announced a new melodic rock combo from Sweden: Kryptonite For your first taste of music and to hear more about the band from the guys themselves, watch a behind-the-scenes video they've shared below.
Sometimes musicians are put together who only know each other from afar via their respective recordings, but something clicks and triggers a magical moment. That's exactly what happened when Jakob Samuel from The Poodles met up with producer Alessandro Del Vecchio on the heels of a concept created by Frontiers President Serafino Perugino. Together, they set off to work on a new band that could offer lyrical concepts that are deep and intelligent with music that operates within the genres they excel in. And most importantly, has a great energy and impact. Together with executive producer Serafino Perugino, they handpicked each musician to be part of their vision for a strong lineup of young and hungry Swedish musicians that would be ready to go out there and kick some ass. Pontus Egberg, formerly of The Poodles and now the bass player for King Diamond and Treat, was the first one to enter the picture, followed shortly thereafter by Robban Back of Mustasch (and ex-Eclipse). The choice of guitar player fell to the young and immensely gifted Mike Palace. Mike showed his huge talents as a writer and performer on his band Palace’s debut album and on several songs he has already written for the label. The recording and writing sessions flowed freely and the songs came naturally. This band will truly set a standard for what fans perceive as melodic hard rock in today’s climate. It is classic, but modern at the same time, groovy and cool. You will love what Jakob, Michael, Pontus, and Robban have cooked up for you as Kryptonite - Sweden. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements concerning the release date and the forthcoming first video/single.

OK, we’re rolling….
The call went out. Time for a new MR. BIG album. Recorded in Los Angeles in under a week, the boundless result of the undoubted musical talent within the group is ‘Defying Gravity, their ninth original studio album. Its release will also signal the start of a world tour. Original members Eric Martin (lead vocals), Paul Gilbert (guitars), Billy Sheehan (bass) and Pat Torpey (drums) reunited with producer Kevin Elson (who also helmed the band’s 1989 self- titled debut, 1991’s ‘Lean Into It’ and 1993’s ‘Bump Ahead’) for an intensive six day recording session in LA. Torpey was unable to perform on some songs due to a recent diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, with Matt Starr filling in for him. Starr has been touring with the band for the last two years, with Torpey playing a couple of songs at each show. “It was great to get back in the studio with our original producer," says guitarist Paul Gilbert. “Kevin Elson recorded all of our original classic albums from the 80’s and 90’s, and we immediately felt that magic chemistry with him on this new record. We basically played live in the studio. Over the years, we’ve all had a chance to experiment with every recording technique possible, but it’s still always the best just to play together as a band. Most of my guitar solos were tracked live with the band. I’ve worked hard on my improvisation in the last few years and it really paid off on this record, both melodically and on the face-melting stuff." ‘Defying Gravity’ is the follow-up to ‘The Stories We Could Tell’ [2014], which was well received by both the media and the band’s large, devoted fanbase. Currently gearing up for the start of their latest world tour, which commences May 31st in Milwaukee, Gilbert states that “2017 is filling up quickly with tour dates all around the world. I can’t wait to play the new songs, and of course favourites from the old days like ’Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy’, 'Just Take My Heart’, ‘Green Tinted Sixties Mind’, ’Wild World’ and 'To Be With You’.”

The new tome by the band's early manager Noel Monk, is available in autographed editions via VanHalenStore.com.
The press release for the book states: "Lifting back the curtain on one of the great untold stories of rock music, Monk details the most outrageous escapades from his time as confidant, fixer, and promoter — from hotel room destruction to outrageous backstage behavior to Eddie Van Halen's high-profile marriage to Valerie Bertinelli to the incredible drug use and drinking that would ultimately fuel the conflict between the band members… Monk also sheds light on a breakup long shrouded in rumor and animosity, telling the story of David Lee Roth's departure as he saw it and explaining how a band at the height of their powers found themselves struggling in vain to hold it all together." "Runnin' With The Devil: A Backstage Pass To The Wild Times, Loud Rock, And The Down And Dirty Truth Behind The Making Of Van Halen" will be released on June 13 via Dey Street Books (formerly It Books), an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. Greg Renoff, author of the recently acclaimed VAN HALEN biography "Van Halen Rising: How A Southern California Backyard Party Band Saved Heavy Metal", explained that what David Lee Roth lacked in vocal prowess was covered by his passion and total dedication to delivering onstage. "One of the people I talked to was the bass player in RED BALL JET — that was the band Dave formed after the VAN HALEN brothers turned him down the first time. He said from the first time he saw Dave — so this is even before RED BALL JET — he said he saw him play in a park, on the same bill. These are like high school kids, everybody else is kinda swaying to the music while they play — y'know, Dave goes out there, he's got, like the Mick Jagger rooster tail going out of the back of his jeans and he's, like, y'know, grinding and doing these things and everybody's, like 'We were just having lunch with you in the cafeteria six hours ago — what are you doing, man?!' Like, y'know? But that was who he was. He was entrainment first all the time from the get-go. No. It's about the show. It's about being an entertainer." The final show of VAN HALEN's most recent U.S. tour took place on October 4, 2015 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California. The trek was VAN HALEN's first since an aborted North American run three years earlier in support of its then-new studio album, "A Different Kind Of Truth". Released in 2015 was "Tokyo Dome In Concert", VAN HALEN's first-ever live collection featuring singer David Lee Roth, despite numerous pro-shot concerts from the band's original heyday being heavily booted for years. Courtesy of www.blabbermouth.net Kee Of Hearts is the new project built around two true melodic rock superstars: Fair Warning singer Tommy Heart, and former Europe guitarist Kee Marcello.
With a line-up rounded out by Ken Sandin (ex-Alien) on bass and Italian drummer Marco Di Salvia (Pino Scotto), the guys started working on their debut album in late 2016. With their songwriting strongly focused on melodic rock songs, the album came to completion under the direction of producer Alessandro Del Vecchio and covers a wide spectrum of styles with a lot of attention given to crafting great hooks delivered by musicians that know how to deliver the goods. Musically, the band operates in a territory defined by Scandinavian AOR meeting German melodic hard rock with influences from the classic US AOR giants (think Giant, Journey, etc.). All in all, an unmissable release and a highlight of the melodic rock scene. The album is planned for release in the late summer. Updates to follow. Courtesy of www.bravewords.com

Richmond, Virginia-based rockers, Red Reign, specialize in a sound that recalls vintage rock and metal acts of the mid to late ‘80s, as evidenced by their just-released self-titled EP, which features the single “Not That Way”. So it will undoubtedly be a perfect fit when the group (which features singer/guitarist Carlton “Bubba” McMichael, guitarist Stevie Shred, bassist Larry Moore, an drummer Sammy Lee) opens a show on June 23rd with Quiet Riot, and three shows from August 3rd - 5th with Tesla.
“WOW, we are so excited to join Quiet Riot for a show in Lynchburg, Virginia,” says Sammy Lee. “Seeing Frankie Banali for the 1st time was unbelievable to me as a drummer. I loved his booming sound and will now get to see and hear it up close and personal. And Red Reign is extremely excited to be supporting Tesla, one of the premier hard rock bands out today. I remember watching Tesla's videos all over MTV back in the day and now we get to share the same stage with them...it is surreal.” The self-titled EP, was overseen by Grammy-nominated producer, David Ivory (Halestorm, Roots, Silvertide). "After signing with Chipster PR, we were directed to David Ivory, to help with the rewriting and rearrangement of songs for our upcoming CD," explains Sammy. "David made the songs flow better rhythmically and brought in fresh ideas, to build on the original foundation of the songs. He also brought a different vision of how the songs were played, to put the band in more of a mainstream direction." The EP can be purchased here.
One of the EP’s standout tracks is the “Not That Way” (which will be performed at the upcoming show), which the band’s McMichael describes as “one of those songs that is about a love gone bad and then the girl realizes she made a mistake in our relationship and wants to get back into the same relationship she poisoned. But the guy has gotten over her and moved on.”
A lyric video for the track can be viewed below:
Other tracks include “Chains” (“About the feelings of being held back and looking for that escape”), “Toxic” (“The feeling of hopelessness in a relationship”), “Red Reign” (“The anger side of a relationship”), and “What is Love For” (“About you pouring yourself into a relationship, knowing it’s not going to go far”).
And in August, Red Reign will undoubtedly win over many new fans - when they join forces with Tesla! Red Reign tour dates: June 2 - Phase 2 - Lynchburg, VA (with Quiet Riot) August 3 - Embassy Theatre - Ft Wayne, IN (with Tesla) 4 - Taft Theater - Cincinnati, OH (with Tesla) 5 - 20 Monroe Live - Grand Rapids, MI (with Tesla) Courtesy of www.bravewords.com The Dead Daisies Live In Paris - "Make Some Noise", "Song And A Prayer" Pro-Shot Videos Streaming5/18/2017
