German hard rock veterans Scorpions will release a new compilation album, Born To Touch Your Feelings - Best Of Rock Ballads, on November 24th. The effort will include seventeen of the band's most famous ballads plus two new songs which were recorded this past summer. Scorpions singer Klaus Meine revealed during last month's SiriusXM Town Hall radio interview that the band's record company "wanted us to come up with a couple of bonus tracks" for the best-of-ballads collection "and we went in the studio and everybody came up with great ideas… We just finished a recording session and listened to the first mixes and stuff, and it sounds pretty good. It's gonna be a 'best of ballads,' but with those new tracks. And it's gonna be a cool project." Regarding how the idea for the collection came about, Klaus said: "Sony Music approached us and said, 'C'mon, guys. You have so many powerful songs. And we wanna put it together in some kind of compilation you guys never did before.'"
Meine added that while the Scorpions are known in the U.S.A. mostly for their harder-edged material, like "Rock You Like A Hurricane", "in other parts of the world, Scorpions are very famous for the ballads, like 'Still Loving You' in France. And in Asia, they love the ballads, and in Russia, 'Wind Of Change' and all those songs are very powerful — equally as powerful as 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' here," he said. "So we talked about [doing] this. In different parts of the world, people like different types of music. So we can offer [a compilation that includes all the best of the softer songs]." Detroit hair metal rockers Artificial Agent continue to prove that their brand of rock and roll is as much about the music as it is about their energetic live show.
The new track "Devil in the White Dress" from their newly released album "Programmed to Destroy" is full of fist-pumping attitude. Like a wild rock-n-roll maestro, frontman Derek Jendza leads Artificial Agent in a blistering tune which stomps through as many rock and metal sub-genres as possible in one track. Guitarist Mike Elgert, bassist Brad Jendza and drummer Karl Crafton race between riff-heavy active rock to the hair-blowing posturing of acid-washed hit makers of the 1980s. The purple tone that looms over the video ties back to the transparent purple vinyl album that “Devil In the White Dress” opens on. Filmed at the historic Masonic Temple in Detroit's Cass Corridor - the world's largest Masonic Temple - the video for "Devil in the White Dress" takes advantage of the spooky visuals from the building's neo-Gothic architecture, which blends perfectly with Artificial Agent's black-red-and-dead color scheme. http://www.artificialagent.band Purchase on Amazon Music http://amzn.to/2xyMixB Purchase on iTunes http://apple.co/2yhnUzB
CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer has released the official music video for the title track of his critically acclaimed solo debut album, "The Way Life Goes". The clip, which was directed by Vicente Cordero, can be seen below.
"The Way Life Goes - Deluxe Edition", an expanded compilation of "The Way Life Goes", chock full of bonus content and special artwork, is finally set for release October 20 via Cleopatra Records. The package will include the original album that has been remastered by Richard Dodd (KINGS OF LEON, JASON ALDEAN, LADY ANTEBELLUM). It also has two brand new studio tracks recorded in Nashville by three-time Grammy Award winner Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton) with Keifer and his bandmates (Tony Higbee, Billy Mercer, Paul Simmons, Paul Taylor, Savannah Keifer and Kendra Chantelle). Fans will finally get to hear the long-awaited studio recording of THE BEATLES' "With A Little Help From My Friends", which Keifer performs at all of his concerts, plus a powerful new take on the CINDERELLA classic "Nobody's Fool", newly recorded as a duet with Lzzy Hale of HALESTORM. "The reason that I picked up guitar, the reason that I sing the way I do was all because of that guy," said Hale of Keifer's influence on her at a young age. The two first performed "Nobody's Fool" live together in Atlantic City, New Jersey in September 2013. "I remember the first time seeing Lzzy perform live at the House of Blues show in Atlantic City and being absolutely floored by the power of her voice and performance," Keifer says. "She's an amazing artist and has been a great inspiration to me as well." There will also be a bonus DVD with music videos, tour clips, and "The Way Life's Goin'", a 30-minute documentary produced by Tammy Vega (Keifer's longtime official photographer) about the creation of the bonus tracks, exclusive interviews with the band filmed during the new recording sessions, and live footage. "The Way Life Goes - Deluxe Edition" will be wrapped in an all new six-panel digipak designed by artist David Calcano (creator of the Fantoons comic strip series) with 20 pages of one-of-a-kind unique illustrations depicting each song. As Keifer explains: "Everything from the new artwork, documentary, videos and bonus tracks contained in the deluxe edition is a sum of all the amazingly talented people who came into our world as a result of the initial release. The two bonus tracks were specifically chosen and recorded as we felt them both to be special collaborations that came about while touring for 'The Way Life Goes'." He was transported to a local hospital where he is stable, and additional information will be released as soon as it's available. One fan reported via Keifer's Facebook page that she was in attendance and that Keifer "collapsed getting out of his bus to come to the stage." Drusky Entertainment, the promoter for the show released a statement say Keifer "was unable to perform tonight after being rushed to the hospital right before he was scheduled to perform tonight due to a medical emergency. Please hang on to your tickets as we are looking to reschedule the date ASAP following the speedy recovery of Keifer." Stay tuned for updates. Speaking with the Long Island Pulse recently, Keifer discussed his solo career, his album The Way Life Goes, and whether Cinderella will ever reunite. An excerpt is available below. Q: What can fans expect at the upcoming show at B.B. King’s? Keifer: "A big, loud rock n’ roll show. We play all their faves from the Cinderella days, stuff off the new record and there’s some cover songs we do that people have been digging. Pretty much what you would expect to see from me: lots of energy, passion and sweat. That’s how we roll." Q: Would you ever consider a Cinderella reunion? Keifer: "There’s really no talk of that at all at this point. I’m really happy with what I’m doing and I think everyone else is, too. Everyone else is off doing their own thing. I have put a lot of time into this new project, and it’s been going really well. I’m really enjoying it. I’m happy where I am." Read the complete interview here. Tom Keifer once sang, "You're only going once around the ride." He's proving that theory wrong with the highly anticipated release of The Way Life Goes - Deluxe Edition, an expanded compilation of his critically acclaimed solo debut album, The Way Life Goes, chock full of bonus content and special artwork. Hollywood rockers, Pretty Boy Floyd, return with their new album Public Enemies, out on December 1st. For a preview, the new song “Girls All Over The World” is available for streaming below. Pre-order the new album here.
Public Enemies is exactly what’d you expect from these seasoned Sunset Strip veterans. A fun record meant to be played at maximum volume to help you forget about your worries, of which we all have plenty these days. Kristy Majors says: “Staying loyal to our 1980’s roots, Public Enemies is a true follow-up to the classic Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz.” Not too long ago, when rock was about having a good time, letting your hair down and creating chaos and anarchy, four guys got together in Hollywood and formed a band. NYC guitarist Kristy Majors hooked up with west coast front man Steve Summers and laid the foundation for their dream band. They worked, wrote songs and played and played and played. The band chose the name Pretty Boy Floyd because it seemed to describe them - four tough teens armed with guitar licks and teenage angst who set out to conquer the world. As the new millennium rolled in, new music fans began to wonder what they had missed back in the heyday of ‘80s and early ‘90s sleaze rock. A whole new breed of young fans who weren’t born when the band first emerged began to discover their music. The original fans from back in the day and the new fans found common ground - a love of Pretty Boy Floyd’s music, sleazy shows, and fun times. Never mind what the critics think, or what trends may have come and gone. Having outlasted many of the critics who cried “they’ll never make it,“ Pretty Boy Floyd continues to record and tour the world winning over news fans both young and old. Tracklisting: “S.A.T.A.” “Feel The Heat” “High School Queen” “Girls All Over The World” “American Dream” “We Can’t Bring Back Yesterday” “We Got The Power” “Do Ya Wanna Rock” “Run For Your Life” “Shock The World” “Paint It On” “7 Minutes In Heaven” “Star Chaser” “So Young So Bad” “Girls All Over The World”:
