In The Loop magazine has uploaded video footage of VIXEN performing the song "Edge Of A Broken Heart" on August 12 at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois. The concert was recorded for an upcoming live album. According to singer Janet Gardner, the disc "will also include a couple of bonus surprises."
VIXEN recently parted ways with guitarist Gina Stile and replaced her with Britt Lightning. The band also welcomed a new keyboardist, Tyson Leslie.
Lightning and Leslie made their live debut with VIXEN on March 25 at the Rock The Arena II festival at Savage Arena in Toledo, Ohio.
Stile originally played with VIXEN in 1997-1998 and returned to the band in 2013 as the replacement for the group's deceased founding guitarist Jan Kuehnemund.
In a recent interview with Antihero Magazine, Gardner stated about her decision to take a break from VIXEN during most of the 1990s and early 2000s: "Obviously, in the early '90s and most of the '90s, we were looked as passé, the whole scene that we were involved in. So, you know, it wasn't very appealing to throw yourself out there and get people going, 'Eww, we don't want to hear that.' So, you know, it was kind of a good time for me to, you know, do the family thing. And do other things that were important to me at the time and spend some time with my family. And you know, I would always sit down with a guitar. I always had things to say, but it wasn't necessarily what people wanted to hear. So, I wanted to spend some time doing other things in life."
Gardner released her debut solo album on August 18 via Pavement Entertainment in conjunction with Pavement's cohorts Eternal Sound Records for Europe. All songs were written, performed and produced by Gardner and her husband, Justin James, a guitarist, songwriter and producer who has previously worked with STAIND, COLLECTIVE SOUL and TYKETTO.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the release of Nikki Sixx’s drug-soaked NY Times bestselling memoir, The Heroin Diaries and Sixx:A.M.’s The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack.
To commemorate more than a decade of sobriety and life lessons learned, Nikki Sixx and Sixx:A.M. revisit the seminal work; announcing Tenth Anniversary Editions of the book and album in multiple formats including: digital LP, CD, CD / DVD, and Special Edition Vinyl, and Graphic Novel. Fans can get a jump start today by pre-ordering these and more exclusively at PledgeMusic.
Nikki Sixx got sober sixteen years ago. A decade ago he shared this story with the world. And yet with the modern opioid crisis looming larger than ever; Sixx’s journey to sobriety and the words and music it inspired remains poignantly relevant.
Chronicling the year of decadence and depravity that almost cost Sixx his life during the recording and tour for Mötley Crüe’s seminal 1987 album Girls Girls Girls, the book not only became a worldwide bestseller but also spawned the band Sixx:A.M., and Sixx’s nationally syndicated daily iHeart Media rock radio show, Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx.
Says Sixx: “Over the last ten years I’ve met so many people who have thanked me for The Heroin Diaries and say that it saved their lives,” explains Nikki. “But the truth is, writing The Heroin Diaries saved my life too.”
Journey back again into this mega–New York Times bestselling survivor’s story in one of the most “harrowing” (Rolling Stone) and “heartbreaking” (The New York Times) memoirs of addiction ever published and the soundtrack it inspired. The once-shattered rock star shares raw and mesmerizing journal entries from the year he plunged to rock bottom - and his courageous decision to pick himself up and start living again. In never-before-seen photos and exclusive new chapters, Nikki reflects on his decade of sobriety in this expanded 10th anniversary edition of the book.
Sixx:A.M. also celebrates its 10-year anniversary with the re-release of The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack: 10th Anniversary Edition. Comprised of James Michael (vocalist, producer, songwriter), Dj Ashba (guitarist, songwriter) Nikki Sixx (bassist, songwriter), the group initially came together to write, record, and co-produce The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack, which sold over 300,000 copies, and includes the #1 hit single, “Life Is Beautiful”, which became radio’s most played rock song of 2008. Over the past decade Sixx:A.M. has become a full-fledged global rock powerhouse, releasing four additional albums, multiple Top 5 hits and playing the biggest festivals and arenas around the world.
The Heroin Diaries: Ten Year Anniversary Edition by Nikki Sixx is out October 24th via Gallery Books / Simon & Schuster featuring a new cover, never-before-seen photos and exclusive brand new chapters.
The Heroin Diaries: 10th Anniversary Edition Soundtrack by Sixx:A.M. will be released October 27th via Eleven Seven Music as a digital album, CD, and CD/DVD. A limited edition vinyl package will also come later this year. All music configurations feature new artwork, personal notes from the band and include three newly re-imagined tracks: “Life Is Beautiful 2017”, “Accidents Can Happen 2017”, and “Girl With Golden Eyes 2017”.
Also on pre-sale today is The Heroin Diaries graphic novel, a collaboration that Nikki Sixx and Heavy Metal recently announced at ComicCon San Diego. The Graphic Novel presents The Heroin Diaries from a different angle and gives both insight and understanding to the deadly trap and temptation of addiction adapted by Rantz Hoseley, illustrated by Danijel Zezelj, and Keiron Dwyer, an with exclusive cover art by David Mack.
In addition, Sixx will debut his first-ever photography exhibit in partnership with Leica Camera at the Leica Gallery Los Angeles beginning October 4th (announcement forthcoming). The collection features Sixx’s most precious moments and interactions from the past decade, in images including homelessness and drug addiction amongst other topics which Sixx was all too familiar with before photography helped change his life post-sobriety.

"Get Off Your Ass", the title track of the new album from veteran Los Angeles hard rockers AUTOGRAPH, can be streamed below. The disc will be released on October 6 via EMP Label Group, the U.S.-based label of MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson. It will be issued on CD and digital, with a limited-edition vinyl LP version available in November.
"Get Off Your Ass" is the first official studio LP from the revamped quartet, featuring original/founding members guitarist Steve Lynch and bassist Randy Rand, alongside new vocalist/rhythm guitarist Simon Daniels and drummer Marc Wieland.
Lynch, an iconic guitarist, revered worldwide as a bona fide guitar hero (known for his signature eight-finger hammer-on technique), reactivated the band in 2013 with bassist Randy Rand after reconnecting at the NAMM show. After approaching original vocalist Steve Plunkett, who was unavailable for the reunion due to other business interests, with his blessing, the newly resurrected AUTOGRAPH recruited former JAILHOUSE vocalist Simon Daniels, the rest, as they say, is history.
"Get Off Your Ass" features an updated, hard-edged (and keyboard free) sound for the band, featuring down-tuned guitars, and the fiery, blues-soaked delivery of Daniels, as evidenced on tracks like "Every Generation", "I Lost My Mind In America", and the first single, edgy title track "Get Off Your Ass". The album also features an updated live version of the band's classic rock staple "Turn Up The Radio", performed by the current lineup.
Says Lynch: "'Get Off Your Ass' definitely sets a new direction for the band, with an updated, heavier sound, while still retaining the signature melodic hooks people have come to expect from AUTOGRAPH. This record is bound to get the attention of old AUTOGRAPH fans as well as the new. So put your ears on and turn this one up!!"
Adds Daniels: "We are so excited about this record! This is a lineup of brothers with a vision and the perfect chemistry. We wanted the record to be musically timeless, and translate a heavier sound featuring the melodies and harmonies, but with heavier guitars and a more 'in-your-face' attitude. The lyrics come from the heart and are directed to people of our current era, with uplifting messages and positive energy. It's AUTOGRAPH on steroids."
On their partnership with EMP, Daniels adds: "EMP is the perfect match for us. They understand what we're doing, they have the same vision and we are grateful to work with such great experienced humble focused achieving people!" Drummer Marc Wieland concurs: "EMP shares and supports the same vision we had for our new album, 'Get Off Your Ass'. We are stoked to be part of their family!"
Ellefson expresses a mutual admiration. "When I first moved to L.A. to go to MI (then known as GIT), Steve Lynch was the guy everybody went there to learn from. As far as guitar players in L.A. went, he was the guy. I never did end up at GIT, we formed MEGADETH and obviously went down an extremely different path, but Steve truly is an iconic guitar hero of the highest caliber, and I am so proud for EMP to be able to partner with him and the re-imagined AUTOGRAPH to release this killer album."
Forming in 1983, AUTOGRAPH gave the world the perpetual rock anthem "Turn Up the Radio", which still commands nearly constant airplay on classic rock stations around the world, and has become an iconic piece of pop culture, making appearances in mass media classics like "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" and more recently in the film "Hot Tub Time Machine".
With seminal albums "Sign In Please" (1984), "That's The Stuff" (1985) and "Loud And Clear" (1987), as well as years of touring alongside legendary artists, including MÖTLEY CRÜE, DIO, VAN HALEN and AEROSMITH, AUTOGRAPH left an everlasting imprint on rock 'n' roll. Now this undeniable rock legacy is reclaimed with "Get Off Your Ass".

After the 2015 release of the self-titled debut album by Revolution Saints - Deen Castronovo (ex-Journey, Bad English), Doug Aldrich (The Dead Daisies, ex-Whitesnake, Duo), Jack Blades (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees) - rock fans around the world rejoiced at the inspired musical offering. Those fans will, once again, have cause for celebration as Revolution Saints will be releasing their second album later this year. Today, the band has released a video for the album track “Freedom”, which can be seen below.
Light In The Dark is due out October 13th. The album will be available on CD, CD/DVD Deluxe Edition (includes live bonus tracks on the CD and on the DVD, footage from the band’s first-ever live performance captured at Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan this past April, a “Making Of” mini-documentary, and music videos for “Light In The Dark” and “I Wouldn’t Change A Thing”), Vinyl, and as a special Limited Edition Box Set (includes the Deluxe Edition CD/DVD, 180g Vinyl, T-shirt (size L), poster, lithograph and sticker).
For Light In The Dark, Revolution Saints once again teamed up with producer/songwriter Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Jorn), who was also behind the boards for the band’s debut album. Most of Light In The Dark was recorded at Del Vecchio’s studios in Somma Lombardo, Italy, with additional recording taking place at Blades’ studio in Washington, Aldrich’s CasaDala studio in Los Angeles, and other countries all over the world while Aldrich was on tour with The Dead Daisies.
“This is a fun band!” exclaims bassist Jack Blades. “I think the fans are going to pick up on the excitement and the shear musical enjoyment we are having. It was great going to Italy to get the album started and film the videos, and the music speaks for itself.”
“’Light In The Dark’ is such a great song,” continues singer/drummer Deen Castronovo. “It was the first one we recorded. We ran through it a few times and nailed it in the first couple takes. We're so excited for everyone to hear this record. We're very happy with what we came up with and can't wait to bring it to everyone live.”
As guitarist Doug Aldrich proclaims, “I’m very excited about Revolution Saints’ second record! First I want to say that it's because of huge support from the fans that RS2 happened. Thank you. If you liked #1, I think you'll love this one even more. It’s stronger, and a bit heavier in some spots. We tried a few new things and we can’t wait for our fans to hear it! There’s a very good chance we’ll finally get to play live and we’re currently exploring the possibilities of a tour. For now, get ready, because the album kicks ass and it's comin’ at you real soon!”
Revolution Saints was born from the vision of Frontiers' President, Serafino Perugino, who for years had hoped to work on a project highlighting Deen Castronovo’s amazing vocal abilities. Having previously worked with all three artists on different projects on Frontiers, having Castronovo, Blades and Aldrich on board together was a dream come true for Perugino.
This time, with one album already under their belt, Revolution Saints entered the studio to record the new album more familiar with one another and a clear understanding of where they wanted this to go. As with the first album, Castronovo’s superb vocal talents are in the spotlight on this release and deservedly so. Pretty impressive for a man who is most widely known for his incredible drumming talents. Jack Blades really needs no introduction at this point, but for those who have been living under a rock, his bass and vocal talents are well documented over the years through his work with Night Ranger, Damn Yankees, Shaw/Blades, and more. And, of course, a major feature is the fiery and intense playing from former Whitesnake and DIO guitarist Doug Aldrich, whose blistering guitar fretwork is on full display here.
Light In The Dark builds off the classic melodic rock style of the debut, but fans should prepare for a somehow even more inspired set and a few (pleasant) surprises. Inspiring, uplifting, emotionally powerful, and thoughtful, this album WILL be the soundtrack to many a moment in your life.

Lynch Mob’s new album, The Brotherhood, will be released on Friday, September 8th via Rat Pak Records. Check out a video for “Mr. Jekyll And Hyde” below, and pre-order the album at this location.
Produced by Chris "The Wizard" Collier (Flotsam And Jetsam, Prong, KXM), The Brotherhood features 11 brand new hard rock tracks. This album will surely resonate with long time fans of the band, as well as those longing for that good ol' hard rock sound and feel."The Brotherhood highlights the unique pairing of Oni Logan and George Lynch, and along with Sean McNabb (bass) and Jimmy D’Anda (drums), the band has created a solid offering from start to finish. From the heavy guitar riffs of the opening track “Main Offender” to the melodic album finale ”Miles Away”, Lynch Mob have once again proven they remain on top of their game and at the top of their genre!
On the subject of Lynch Mob’s new record, Oni Logan comments, “After doing quite a few miles together with this latest lineup of Sean McNabb and Jimmy D’Anda, we consider ourselves a pack of wolves, and we came up with the name The Brotherhood for the title of the next Lynch Mob album. It’s got more of an adventurous sound in part and maybe a darker, colder sound to it. We are always willing to go farther. We come from the early 90’s and it's when we released the first Lynch Mob album which set a sound and course for us. Here we are 27 years later, George and I are still able to keep on stretching. As a player, as a writer, that is very important to us. Otherwise we would be fooling ourselves and fooling you”.
George Lynch adds, "We wrote this album as a band and the name of the record reflects what the band is about, and what all my bands have been about since I've been a kid. This is my second family. These are my brothers. You go through a lot together and have a lot of experiences together. And that then becomes a part of the music."
“Mr. Jekyll And Hyde”
“I'll Take Miami”
“Last Call Lady”
“Where We Started”
“The Forgotten Maiden's Pearl”
“Until the Sky Comes Down”
“Black Heart Days”
“Dog Town Mystics”
“Until I Get My Gold” (bonus track)

Whitesnake Signs New Catalog Deal; Future Releases Detailed Including 30th Anniversary Edition Of '1987'
After a quiet couple of years, Whitesnake's David Coverdale is "feeling like a fireman surrounded by little wildfires, just really, really busy" with upcoming releases both new and archival thanks to a new deal with the Warner Music Group Worldwide and Rhino Entertainment, reports Billboard.
First up in the deal - which puts a large chunk of Whitesnake's catalog under one roof for the first time ever - is 30th anniversary editions of 1987's eight-times-platinum Whitesnake album on October 6th, with different configurations featuring unreleased studio, live and video material. Record Store Black Friday on November 24th will see a home video as well as a coffee table book chronicling The Purple Album cycle from 2015, while the new year will bring a new Whitesnake studio album and world tour.
"The next three to five years is spoken for with some really exciting projects," Coverdale tells Billboard. He's also pleased to be back with what he calls "corporate music" after a decade with independents - and particularly back with Warner, where he began his recording career with Deep Purple during the mid-70s and where Whitesnake made its most successful albums for Geffen Records.
