Word began circulating earlier this week that Stryper have officially parted ways with original bassist Tim Gaines, which had been rumoured for some time. The band has now issued an official statement confirming the split:
"Dear fans and friends, We wish Timothy Gaines nothing but the best, and we will always remember the history and the good times that we all shared together. We have done our best to remain courteous and professional despite the barrage of disrespectful comments, posts and tweets that have been made public time and time again by Tim and Brandee on what seems to be a daily basis. The accusations that have been made that our decision to terminate Tim is based on his divorce couldn't be further from the truth. We have all struggled with separation and divorce in our relationships over the years, and it has never affected anyone's position within the band. The band decided to take a hiatus in order to give Tim time and space to work through his personal issues. However, based on Tim and Brandee's intentional, erratic and hostile behavior, which has damaged Stryper and threatened to undermine the band's ability to go forward professionally, we were left with no other choice but to part ways. Tim and Brandee have left their scars and have hurt us in more ways than you can imagine. We were also forced to retain legal representation based on a public post/threat that Tim made about suing the band in 2016. Tim is our brother, and we love him but this has become a toxic relationship at this point and due to that, we cannot continue on with our mission and stay true to who we are and what we represent with Tim in the band. We're excited about the future and we will be making an official announcement very soon about our new album, tour and bassist. We love our fans and we appreciate your support and patience as we work through these changes. The best is yet to come!" Courtesy of www.bravewords.com

“Gawd, after a month of flying across the county doing dates, it's feels like I've been going in "slo-mo" since Saturday,” says Helix leader Brian Vollmer. “But there's no time to relax! “Order your advance copy of Helix vinyl album! Now available at the mercy section of PlanetHelix.com! Only $19.99 plus shipping. “Yesterday I approved the mastering for the two new Helix songs (“The Devil Is Having A Party Tonight” and “The Tequila Song”) coming out on red vinyl. It should take about 6 weeks to get the actual 12" records in my hand, just in time for Christmas. There are only 300 of these records, so get 'em while they last. They will not be re-pressed. That's it. Fini. Done like toast over. Never again. So get yours now before they're all gone. Even if you only frame it and put it on the wall it's worth the $19.99. “Here are a few of the reasons this is a great collector's item: 1. Red translucent vinyl. 12" record which runs at 45 speed for better quality. (Rob Bursey can rejoice now!) 2. Two songs one side. The other side has a devil's face as "wallpaper". When you hold the album up the red is translucent and the devil's faces show through the vinyl. 3. Inside sleeve. It costs more to have an inside sleeve with artwork. That's why some records don't have it. Added bonus: Our inside sleeve has everyone's name, what they play, and a place for each band member to personally sign. (which we will). This is something I've NEVER seen on an album but which makes perfect sense. What got me on to this was signing CDs, etc. at the merchandise booth... Some of the CDs (and a lot of the shirts) have no where for the band to sign unless you have a silver marker or are adept at writing in ant language. LOL. Instead of having to decipher some chicken scratch writing and then figure out what the person plays, it's all laid out in front of you. And only 300 are to be pressed...m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m... The inside sleeve also has the lyrics to both songs and B-roll pictures from our Victor Azziz photo session which we filmed at Mike McDowell's head shop "The Hippy Company" (THC). Thanks Mike for use of the store. You're a good friend. 4. The songs! These two new tracks rock! And for now they will only be available on vinyl or as a digital download through CD Baby. The first (“The Devil Is Having A Party Tonight”) was written by Kaleb, Chris, Fritz, Daryl, and myself. Daryl produced. This was the first song written by this line-up and not the last. Everyone is proud of what we came up with. They should be.
“The second track, "The Tequila Song" was written by myself, Steve Georgakopoulos, and Gord Prior. Steve and Gord wrote "The Power Of Rock And Roll" with me, and Gord has long been associated with the band in a writing capacity, having been a writer on "Take It Or Leave It" from the B-Sides CD. It's a quirky little number that's one big punch line. You'll understand when you hear it. We'll be releasing that song on the same day we release the vinyl.” Courtesy of www.bravewords.com
Dirty Thrills are a young, exciting and charismatic London-based hard rock quartet who play bluesy rock 'n' roll with an appealing filthy edge, churning out endless crowd pleasers that make guitar music sound sexy again. With lung-busting, powerful vocals from front man Louis James, killer guitar riffs from Jack Fawdry and solid low-end grooves from the rhythm section of Aaron Plows and Steve Corrigan, each member's wide-ranging influences also combine to produce a pool of sound similar to current rock icons such as Queens Of The Stone Age, The Black Keys and Rival Sons.
Dirty Thrills are set to release their new album, Heavy Living, on September 15th. The album cut “Rabbit Hole” is available for streaming below. Dirty Thrills formed after a drunken night of jamming in a quiet village pub in Wiltshire, but what started out as an inconspicuous session swiftly birthed an ambitious group with the drive and determination to bring the glory days back to the rock scene. Having released and toured a self-titled debut record in 2014, the band recently signed to Frontiers Music Srl and played the UK's Camden Rocks and Wildfire Festivals in June as part of the build-up to their new single, “Law Man”, which Louis James describes as a song "about one man's fight for freedom, only to be struck down by a figure of austerity." They will also be performing at Ramblin' Man Fair in late July, while a full UK tour will follow the mid-September release of their brand new album, Heavy Living, which was recorded at Monnow Valley Studio in Rockfield, Monmouth and produced/mixed by James Loughrey (The Darkness, Skindred, Sumo Cyco).

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Eden's Curse have released Revisited - a two disc set featuring the debut album re-recorded in it's entirety and a bonus DVD, Live In Glasgow - The Official Bootleg, available worldwide via AFM Records. Watch “Trinity” from the release below:
The debut re-recordings were mixed by Pete Newdeck (Eden's Curse, Tainted Nation, Grim Reaper) and Mastered by Harry Hess (Harem Scarem).
Coupled with the re-recorded debut album is the Live In Glasgow - Official Bootleg DVD which is the Live With The Curse live album recording show in it's entirety. Filmed at The Classic Grand in Glasgow on November 28th, 2014, the release mark's the band first official live DVD release, albeit in a bootleg form.
"The footage is absolutely excellent,” states bassist Paul Logue. "We did not intend to film a DVD, but the audio recording company brought two cameras along to capture the show and when we saw the results we were really surprised! We put out four videos on You Tube to promote the live album and the fans kept asking to see the full show on DVD. So, here it is! We've called it a 'bootleg' because it wasn't recorded on 6 cameras, e.g one above the drummer and one on the keyboard player - like we would do for a proper DVD release. However, beyond that is looks and sounds great! We WILL do a DVD in the future but in the meantime this give our fans across the world something to enjoy time and time again and it makes 'Revisited' a very special package indeed,” he adds. Revisited is the ultimate package for Eden's Curse fans old and new and a fantastic introduction to the band's music. It's a true celebration of the record that started it all, from the guys who carry the legacy forward. Over 60 mins of music and 100 mins of film make Revisited a must have for all Eden's Curse and melodic metal fans. Check out a video trailer below, and order yours today from AFM Records. Eden's Curse dedicated their re-recording of the Steelheart classic, “We All Die Young” - made famous by the fictional band Steel Dragon in the Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Anniston movie Rock Star - to the band's late guitarist, Kenny Kanowski. Bassist Paul Logue commented: "Kenny and I talked online around ten years ago when we first recorded the song. He loved our version and I was very fortunate to meet him in person this past April in Milan at the Frontiers Rock Festival. When I introduced myself to him, he immediately knew who I was and the name of the band and gave me a big kiss for recording the song - he was quite a character! I told him we had re-recorded the song for the tenth anniversary and he was really looking forward to hearing the new version. Sadly he never will. Our thoughts and prayers go to Kenny's family and band mates in Steelheart. RIP brother.”

The official video for "Get Off Your Ass", the title track of the new album from veteran Los Angeles hard rockers AUTOGRAPH, can be seen below. The disc will be released on October 6 via EMP Label Group, the U.S.-based label of MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson. It will be issued on CD and digital, with a limited-edition vinyl LP version available in November.
"Get Off Your Ass" is the first official studio LP from the revamped quartet, featuring original/founding members guitarist Steve Lynch and bassist Randy Rand, alongside new vocalist/rhythm guitarist Simon Daniels and drummer Marc Wieland. Lynch, an iconic guitarist, revered worldwide as a bona fide guitar hero (known for his signature eight-finger hammer-on technique), reactivated the band in 2013 with bassist Randy Rand after reconnecting at the NAMM show. After approaching original vocalist Steve Plunkett, who was unavailable for the reunion due to other business interests, with his blessing, the newly resurrected AUTOGRAPH recruited former JAILHOUSE vocalist Simon Daniels, the rest, as they say, is history. "Get Off Your Ass" features an updated, hard-edged (and keyboard free) sound for the band, featuring down-tuned guitars, and the fiery, blues-soaked delivery of Daniels, as evidenced on tracks like "Every Generation", "I Lost My Mind In America", and the first single, edgy title track "Get Off Your Ass". The album also features an updated live version of the band's classic rock staple "Turn Up The Radio", performed by the current lineup. Says Lynch: "'Get Off Your Ass' definitely sets a new direction for the band, with an updated, heavier sound, while still retaining the signature melodic hooks people have come to expect from AUTOGRAPH. This record is bound to get the attention of old AUTOGRAPH fans as well as the new. So put your ears on and turn this one up!!" Adds Daniels: "We are so excited about this record! This is a lineup of brothers with a vision and the perfect chemistry. We wanted the record to be musically timeless, and translate a heavier sound featuring the melodies and harmonies, but with heavier guitars and a more 'in-your-face' attitude. The lyrics come from the heart and are directed to people of our current era, with uplifting messages and positive energy. It's AUTOGRAPH on steroids." On their partnership with EMP, Daniels adds: "EMP is the perfect match for us. They understand what we're doing, they have the same vision and we are grateful to work with such great experienced humble focused achieving people!" Drummer Marc Wieland concurs: "EMP shares and supports the same vision we had for our new album, 'Get Off Your Ass'. We are stoked to be part of their family!" Ellefson expresses a mutual admiration. "When I first moved to L.A. to go to MI (then known as GIT), Steve Lynch was the guy everybody went there to learn from. As far as guitar players in L.A. went, he was the guy. I never did end up at GIT, we formed MEGADETH and obviously went down an extremely different path, but Steve truly is an iconic guitar hero of the highest caliber, and I am so proud for EMP to be able to partner with him and the re-imagined AUTOGRAPH to release this killer album." Forming in 1983, AUTOGRAPH gave the world the perpetual rock anthem "Turn Up the Radio", which still commands nearly constant airplay on classic rock stations around the world, and has become an iconic piece of pop culture, making appearances in mass media classics like "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" and more recently in the film "Hot Tub Time Machine". With seminal albums "Sign In Please" (1984), "That's The Stuff" (1985) and "Loud And Clear" (1987), as well as years of touring alongside legendary artists, including MÖTLEY CRÜE, DIO, VAN HALEN and AEROSMITH, AUTOGRAPH left an everlasting imprint on rock 'n' roll. Now this undeniable rock legacy is reclaimed with "Get Off Your Ass".
